Lagos – An upcoming comedian, Stanley Chibunna, also known as “Funnybone’’, has expressed delight at the turn out of his fans at the comedy show tagged “Funnybone Untamed’’ despite the current economic hardship.
He spoke against the backdrop of the downturn in the entertainment industry while thanking God for ensuring an impressive comedy show which held at the Muson Centre, on Sunday night, in Lagos.
The comedian told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday that he organised the show so as to tell his own life.
“It was a show I did to be free, it was a show I did to express myself, it was a show I did to tell my story and I thank God I did and I thank God it worked this way. So I bless (thank) God almighty for everything.”
NAN reports that the event featured budding comedians who made jokes that were related to the rising rate of the dollar against the Naira and the negative impact of the economy on the entertainment industry in general and comedy in particular.

The jokes on Boko Haram and the after effects of the last general elections on the entertainment industry were the most prominent during the show.
“Buchi’’, “Senator’’, “DanD’’ “Humorous’’, “MC Jay’’, “Bovi’’, “Seyi Law’’ and “Emmanuella’’, a five-year-old girl who is a social media sensation were among the comedians who participated in the show.
Musicians such as M.I, JesseJagz, Ice Prince, Phyno, Harrysong, KCee, Bracket, Olamide and Oritsefemi took their turns at the show. (NAN)
