Rakiya Tanko-Ayuba, Kebbi State Commissioner for Information, on Friday urged Nigerian journalists to prioritise human angle reports to propel societal transformation.
She threw the challenge when she led a delegation of the ministry on a courtesy visit to Radio Nigeria Equity FM in Birnin Kebbi.
Tanko-Ayuba said the call became imperative because human angle stories exposed the plight of common people and made it easier to find solutions to them.
The commissioner stressed the need for collective efforts from all to improve the well-being of citizens with a view to sustaining the prevailing peace in the state.
Responding, the radio station’s General Manager, Malam Yahaya Umar-Balarabe assured the commissioner of its readiness to partner with Kebbi State government on issues that would facilitate unity, prospect, growth and development of the society.
Umar-Balarabe appealed for sponsorship of programmes and jingles to enable the station to discharge its responsibilities of informing, educating and entertaining the public efficiently and effectively.
