Dutse – The Jigawa Consumer Protection Committee (CPC) has warned bakers of bread in the state against using bromate in making the pastry.
The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Farouk Abdullah, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Dutse.
Abdallah said the Committee would soon collaborate with the state office of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to rid the state of unwholesome foods.
He said it was wrong for any baker to use potassium bromate, which could cause numerous health hazards.
The chairman said the CPC was trying hard to make sure that the state was safe of all forms of adulterated food, drugs and medical facilities.
According to him, the committee will make sure that what people consume in the state come from genuine manufacturers and producers. (NAN)
