GLASGOW- Nigeria continued its superb form in weightlifting events at Commonwealth Games when Oluwatoyin Adesanmi picked the country’ second gold medal in the women’ 63kg.

Adesanmi battled her compatriot, Obioma Okoli, who clinched silver both of them having a of 207 lifts while Punam Yadav from India got the bronze medal a lift of 202.

Nigeria has climbed the 9th the medals table gold, three silver and a bronze medal.

Nigeria also qualified for the semi-finals of the women’ 400 metres as Regina George clocked a time of 53.92 seconds in heat 1 finish second behind Rasnayaka Mudiyanselage of Sri Lanka.

Joining her in the semi-finals is Omolara Omotosho. She also finished second in a time of 53.02 seconds in heat 4 Jamaican, Stephanie Mcpherson, winning the heat.[eap_ad_2]

Folashade Abugan completes the semi– set up for Nigeria, finishing second in a time of 52.84 seconds in heat 5 while Amantle Monthso of Botswana won the race with 51.88 seconds.

Playing For Bronze In Table

Nigeria would be competing in the Men’ Table bronze medal match against India.

The narrowly lost out Singapore 3-1 in the semi- tie of the men’s team event.

Since the competition started team have won a game against Asian team, but Aruna Quadri defeated Jian Zhan 3-1 to dent that 100% record.
