Daniel, who resides at Jahi village, Abuja, pleaded guilty to the charge against him and begged for forgiveness.
The presiding judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, convicted and sentenced Daniel to one month in prison or an option to pay N 5,000 fine.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Simon Ibrahim, had told the court that the convict was arrested on May 1 and the matter was reported by one Kelechi Nnamani, of same address with the convict at the Utako Police Station, Abuja.
Ibrahim said that on that same date, the convict formed criminal intention, forced the complainant’s car opened and stole his car stereo, valued at N15,000.
He said the convict had confessed committing the crime and the stolen item was recovered.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 288 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
