Lagos- Bayo Aderinboye , Coach of Oluyole Warriors Basketball Club of Ibadan on Saturday said that his team’s away victory against the Police Batons of Lagos in the ongoing DSTv Basketball League showed their ability to triumph in away matches.
Aderinboye told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that his team’s 56-40 drubbing of the Home team was a clear indication of their resilience.
”We played well and clearly deserve to carry the day; we led from the beginning and never looked back.
”We hope to build on this win because it is important for us to be building our confidence to enable us win away matches,” he said.
NAN reports that Warriors earned their first away victory against Batons on Friday in Lagos.
Warriors showed they meant business from the first quarter by hitting Batons 14-7, with Batons struggling not to concede additional points.
Mark Balogun, Coach of Batons team, told NAN that his players did not rise to the occasion and should be blamed for the loss.
”My players did not give a good account of themselves; it is a painful loss because we were playing at home and had a lot of fans cheering us to do well.
”We would go back and prepare well, to play better in the games ahead,’’ Balogun said (NAN)
