ILORIN (Sundiata Post) – Pastor Idowu Abel of the Christ Manifest Church, Ilorin, has warned traders in the country to desist from hoarding foodstuffs that are meant to be sold to the public.
Abel, who gave the warning in Ilorin on Wednesday in an interview, said some traders are stylishly hoarding some foodstuffs waiting for the price to go up.
According to him, most traders are the real enemy of the country as they always hoard their products in expectation for the price to go up before they sell.
“We can blame the government from now till eternity for the economic crisis, but we the citizens, also play a major path in impoverishing ourselves.
“Especially the traders, they hoard foodstuffs and wait for the right time to sell at higher profit.
“They keep the food items and pray for the price to go up before they release it to the market.
“We are the real enemy of ourselves. Stop hoarding the foodstuffs and stop unnecessary hike in price of food stuffs,” he said.
The cleric advised traders to have the fear of God and stop starving the average Nigerians.
He said traders were inviting God’s wrath if they continued to play on the masses emotion.
Abel, however, advised traders to embrace change of attitude and stop being desperate to make high profit by starving the public. (NAN)
