ABUJA – The ECOWAS Commissioner for Infrastructure, Mr Ebrima Njie, has said the commission will collaborate with its partners to develop a roadmap on mobilising resources for infrastructure.
Njie told the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Abuja that the roadmap would articulate strategies to guide investors in developing infrastructure in the region.
He said ECOWAS was not relenting in mapping out the right policies for developing infrastructure, to move forward for growth in West Africa.
The commissioner also said the commission was looking inwards to ensure that it pooled resources for the execution of regional infrastructure.
“The energy, transport, Information and Communication Technologies and trans boundary water resources in the region would scale up infrastructure delivery.
“Good infrastructure in the ECOWAS region would be pursued. No country can have economic growth without developing its infrastructure.
“There is so much attention right now on infrastructure within the ECOWAS region.
“ Without infrastructure, a country would be denied good education, good health, good trade and all these would stagnate economic development of such a country,’’ he said.
