Benin – A member of Edo House of Assembly, Monday Ehighalue, has urged the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism in the state, Mr McDonald Obasuke, to initiate policies that would promote cultural heritage of the state.
Ehighalua (PDP), representing Esan-West Constituency, made the call while reacting to the 2015 budget performance presentation by the ministry at the assembly on Wednesday.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]He lamented that in spite of being famous in culture, Edo was not visible in cultural corridors in the country and the world.
He said: “In the past, Edo was well known for its rich culture all over the world.
“But Edo has not been participating in cultural events; we will like you to initiate policies that will improve and promote the cultural heritage of the state,” he told the commissioner.
NAN reports that the ministries of Land and Survey, Women Affairs and Social Development and Information and Orientation also presented performance status of their 2015 budgets. (NAN)
