ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently grilling the Aide Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Col. Ojogbane Adegbe, who was arrested on Wednesday night over the ongoing arms scandal investigation.
Reliable sources also confirmed on Thursday that Adegbe is being interrogated alongside the Director of Military Intelligence (DMI), Brig-Gen. Abubakar Sa’ad, for his alleged involvement in the distribution of the money meant for arms.
The ADC was said to have been arrested in Lagos on his way back from the United Kingdom where he is undertaking a course at the British National Defence College (NDC), while Sa’ad was alleged to have been linked to the distribution of the arms fund.
“Sa’ad who has been the DMI since Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai took over as Chief of Army Staff (COAS), was fingered in arms scam. He is said to have been removed and is also facing interrogation of EFCC.
“The ADC was summoned back from the UK NDC Course, while the DMI was among those accused of sharing money to the politicians,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Sa’ad is said to have since been replaced as the DMI by the former Defence Adviser to the Peacekeeping Operations in Mali, Maj-Gen. Tarfa, who will be occupying the position in acting capacity.
Also speaking to Sundiata Post, a reliable intelligent source, noted that the ADC arrest “may be because the ex-National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), was said have given him and the SA domestic affairs money “.
However, the story could not be confirmed from the Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sani Usman, who simply replied to the text messages,”I have no idea”.
