IBADAN – Mr Adebayo Ayeni, Oyo Sate Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, said the command had deployed 2,950 officers and men to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-fitri celebration.
Ayeni said this on Friday in a statement signed by Supt. Oluwole Olusegun, the Public Relations Officer of the command.
He said that his men would be deployed to praying grounds, parks, religious houses, recreation centres and other strategic places in the state.[eap_ad_2]
Ayeni advised Nigerians to be law-abiding during the celebration, and enjoined the general public to volunteer credible information to guide security agencies.
“If there is any information, the members of the public are free to reach us on 08037149457 and 07042950067.
“Let me also warn that people should be watchful of areas they intend to visit during the festival because of the precarious situation of the country.
“However, I know that Nigeria will soon surmount its present security challenges,’’ he said.
Ayeni however wished Muslim faithful happy Eid-el-Fitri. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
