Abuja – The Commissioner of Police (CP) in Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Musa Kimo, has reassured residents of adequate security measures to guarantee hitch-free Eid el-Kabir celebration.
A statement by the command’s Spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, on Wednesday in Abuja, noted that the command had commenced massive deployment of personnel for the Muslim festival.
He stated that personnel in plainclothes and uniform would be deployed to worship
grounds, shopping malls, gardens, motor parks, among others.
“This arrangement also includes strategic deployment of personnel on foot and motorised patrols along streets, major roads across and all entry and exit points linking FCT with other states,” he said.
Manzah said Kimo had also directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to provide water-tight security at all prayer grounds located within their respective areas of responsibility.
He said the commissioner, who felicitated with Muslims on the celebration of Eid el-Kabir, urged residents to be security-conscious and continue to partner with the command.
He urged residents to provide timely information on suspicious and strange persons hibernating around them. ( NAN)
