BIRNIN-MAGAJI – Alhaji Aminu Jaji, the Chairman of Birnin Magaji Local Government Council in Zamfara, has urged Muslims in the state to use the Eid-el-Maulud period to pray for peace and security in Nigeria.
He made the call on Friday in Birnin-Magaji at the inauguration of All Progressive Congress (APC) local government campaign committees for Kaura-Namoda and Birnin-Magaji local government areas of the state.
Jaji, who is also the APC candidate for Kaura-Namoda, Birnin-Magaji federal constituency in the 2015 elections, said Nigeria had never faced serious security and economic challenges that needed urgent prayers than now.
The chairman said “this is the time Muslims remember the birth of Prophet Muhammad through act of worship, acts of kindness and goodness to children, the poor and the aged.
“If both Muslims and Christians embark on prayers during our time of worship, I am sure God will intervene and solve these problems.’’
Alhaji Lawal Liman, the Chairman of Kaura-Namoda Local Government Council, commended the state government for constructing township roads in the headquarters of the 14 local governments of the state.
Liman said the township roads would improve socioeconomic development, noting that all compensation for projects done had been paid in Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area.
