Ado-Ekiti – Ekiti All Stars FC on Saturday donated a lawn mower to Ekiti Sports Council to keep the Oluyemi Kayode stadium football field in good shape.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the management of All Stars FC presented the mower to the management of the sports council in Ado-Ekiti.
While presenting the machine to the General Manager of the council, Mr Peter Dada, the President of the club, urged the council to ensure proper use of the machine.
He said “the Oluyemi Kayode football field must be kept in good condition at all times; it must be properly maintained, cleaned and weeds removed.
“Our club is, therefore, delighted to present a mower to further improve the quality of the pitch.
“I assure the management of the sports council that we will continue to render such assistance to the council.”
The Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Ekiti chapter, Alhaji Ayodeji Ogunsakin, thanked the management of All Stars FC for supporting the development of the stadium.
He advised other clubs in Ekiti to emulate the good gesture demonstrated by the All Stars management.
Dignitaries at the event included Vice President of All Stars FC, Mr Gbenga Akinwumi, the club’s Team Manager, Mr Bello Mustafa and Captain of the club, Dr Sola Afolayan, as well as some directors of the sports council. (NAN)
