Emir of Bichi urges Kano Govt.  to embrace mechanised  farming

KANO (Sundiata Post) – The Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero has urged   Kano State Government to embrace mechanised farming  to ensure massive food production  in the state.

 Bayero made the  call  when he paid Sallah homage to Gov. Abba  Yusuf at the Government House,  Kano on Saturday.

He said as the Rainy season  approaches,  their was a need for government to provide assorted farm inputs and fertilizer at subsidised rates to farmers.

Bayero called on the state government  to intensify efforts in ensuring adequate means of utilizing Solar power to  generate  electricity.

” At this juncture we will use this avenue to advise government in taking all the needed measures to  address climate change which is affecting the society negatively,”he said.

The traditional ruler  commended the State Government for providing laudable developmental projects since assumption of  office barely 10 months.

Responding,  Yusuf said since assumption of office,  his administration had worked  assiduously in providing infrastructure for the people.

” Within the first quarter of assumption,   we recovered and rehabilitated the Asiya Bayero Pediatric hospital in the municipality.

” While the accident and emergency section of the Muttaka Mohammad General Hospital has also  been renovated up to standard,” he said.

Yusuf said  that one of the priorities  of his administration is to uplif the standard of education, health, agriculture and infrastructure.

” In an effort to decongest traffic and ensure that the  State has been upgraded to global standard commercial city.

“We have  embarked on the construction of two modern flyovers at Dan’agundi and Tal’udu, and  when these two flyovers are  completed Kano will  have a new look,”he said.

He said  that his administration has introduced different kinds of women and youth empowerment Programmes with the aim of making them self reliant and employers of Labour.( NAN)
