Kaduna – Former Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Mamman Nasir on Saturday urged Northern leaders to emulate good virtues of the first Premier of the Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto.
The former Justice said this at the closing of the 50th anniversary of Sardauna’s demise organised by Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation held in Kaduna.
He said Sir Ahmadu Bello never thought of himself as an individual but always thinking of his people and region before taken any decision.
The theme of the anniversary ” The North: 50 years after Sir Ahmadu Bello,”.
According to him, before Sardauna was assassinated in 1966 coup, he left behind one united North and people.
“Alhamdulillah, he did so many times as a leader, he led this region greatly and left behind one North, one people and one country.

“They worked towards making Nigeria great with one people and one nation,” he said.
In his remarks, another elder statesman, Alhaji Ahmed Joda, described late Sir Ahmadu Bello as a man that lived a simple life.
He said the late premier greatly loved the North and the people.
Joda urged the present leaders and those aspiring to lead the country to make education their priority in the interest of the younger generations. (NAN)
