Ernest Shonekan dies at 85

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Head of the interim national government in Nigeria, Chief Ernest Shonekan has died at age 85.

Sundiata Post recalls that Shonekan succeeded the junta of General Ibrahim Babangida.

He died at Evercare hospital, in the Lekki area of Lagos state.

Recall that Chief Shonekan headed the Nigerian interim government between August 26 and November 17, 1993, before he was ousted in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.
