Lagos – The Chief Executive Officer, First Registrars Ltd., Mr Bayo Olugbemi, on Thursday urged Nigerians to be patient with the Federal Government until it implemented the 2016 budget.
Olugbemi made the plea in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
He said that the budget, when signed into law, would boost the economy and improve the standard of living.
According to him, the tide will change overtime if government stimulates the economy when the budget is signed.
“The signing of the budget is the only solution that will wake up the economy because there will be much economic activities that will gradually grow the Gross Domestic Product, ‘’ he said.
He noted that diversifying of the economy was crucial, especially now that the crude oil price had declined.
Olugbemi said that every state and local government in the country were viable in one resource or the other and they could make money from the resources.
“Our people should be creative, innovative, and source for other means of creating wealth to meet the obligation of the people,’’ he said.
Olugbemi noted that it was regrettable that the previous governments did not save as much for the future, when even the crude oil price was above 100 dollars per barrel at the international market. (NAN)
