Kaduna – Dealers in Sports wears and toys are making brisk business in Kaduna following the arrival of Super Eagles for the 2017 AFCON qualifiers’ match against the Pharoahs of Egypt.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that many of the dealers have relocated to the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) where the Super Eagles are strategising ahead of the match.
The first leg of the double header match is scheduled for Friday, Match 25 in Kaduna, while the second leg would be played on Tuesday, March 29 in Alexandra, Egypt.
Some of the dealers who spoke with NAN on Wednesday expressed satisfaction with the patronage from fans of the Super Eagles.
Okafor Ngozi popularly known as OK Best said it was the first time he is experiencing such patronage as fans thronged to the stadium area and other business arenas to buy Jerseys, P-caps and Vuvuzellas.
“ Am very happy with the patronage of Jerseys this time around as it shows sign of victory for the Eagles.
“ I use to sell these Jerseys anytime there is a national event that is when Super Eagles or Flying Eagles are playing in the state but have not experienced high patronage like this.
“I make sales for up to N10,000 a day and am very grateful because this shows that the spirit of sportmanship is high.”
Another trader,Aminu Haliru also expressed satisfaction with the patronage.
“I am happy people are buying Jerseys more than before.
“I sell over 15 Jerseys a day depending on the quality needed by my customers and make good money.
“Some of the Jerseys are sold 1,500, 800, and 700 respectively.
“I sell jerseys and P-Caps and other head wears with good profit at the end of the day.
“ If people will come out with their jerseys and caps, am very sure we have won the match even before it is played on Friday.“
Ila Yamusa also said his patronage was high as he sells Vuvuzella, flag and hand bands.
“I am making my money as people patronise me often.

“ I don’t leave this place untill 8pm and come out as early as 6.30am to start selling .
“I want to believe that this high patronage is for victory and already victory is sure.
“We will come out and support our dear country on Friday.“
Also speaking, some of the fans told NAN that they are buying it to cheer the Eagles to victory.
Ahmadu Musa, a civil servant, said he bought a Jersey, cap, handband and Vuvuzella so that he can cheer the Eagles.
“I bought everything because I want to appear as a typical Nigerian on Frday and cheer them to victory.
“Football has brought unity to us and we must not allow ourselves to be divided.”
Obiora Eze, a business man said the match is a must watch and every Nigerian must appear in his Jersey to motivate the national players.
“We are playing at home with another country so we have to wear our Jerseys, caps for unity purpose.
“We must not allow only the supporters club to wear Jerseys but all of us should wear and come out so that we can celebrate the victory together.“(NAN)
