Kuje 0 A 35-year-old farmer, Aminu Amos, was on Wednesday docked at a Kuje Upper Area Court for allegedly selling a plot of land for N300,000 without the authority of the owner.
Amos is standing trial on charges of criminal breach of trust and cheating, which are contrary to Sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
However, when the charges were read to him, the defendant pleaded not guilty.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Ms. Doris Okoroba, told the court that one Mr Paul Udoh, a business man of Sauka Extension in Abuja, reported the matter at the Kuje Police Station on Aug. 30.
She said that Amos sold a plot of land at Pegi area belonging Udoh at the rate of N300,000 and converted the money to his personal use.
The prosecutor prayed the court for adjournment to enable the investigating police officer complete investigation into the matter.
In his ruling, the Judge, Mr Abdulahi Abdulkareem, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with a surety in like sum.
Abdulkareem adjourned the matter until Sept. 28 for further mention.
