ABUJA – Fire Service FC on Thursday in Abuja played goalless draw with the Superstar FC in the ongoing 2014 FCT league.
In the match, played at the Area 3 Sports Complex, both teams gave good account of themselves with good display of skills but with no goal to show for their efforts.
Both coaches in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after the match praised their boys and said they all did well.
Coach victor Ehyemeze of Fire Service FC told NAN that his boy played very well.
“The match is a good one since both teams tried all their best to score but the match ended in 0-0. [eap_ad_2] “We also failed to convert all our chances and the other team lost chances too, but our own is on the high side, but I still believe that we will improve in the future.
“This is our first time appearing in Abuja league, so we have played two draws and lost one, I believe our next game will be a different story,’’ he said.
Coach Francis Ikechukwu of Super Star FC said both teams did their best.
“The game was nice because my boys did their best and our opponents too.
“And I have learnt an important lesson in this game, so when we go home, we will improve on our training and game,’’ Francis said.
NAN reports that in the other match of the day, Maracan FC defeated Highlanders FC 7-1.
Chima Chikwen scored a ‘Hat Trick,’ while Solomon Miracle scored the brace and then Akawor Christy, Ijeh Agbo scored one each.
NAN also reports that Highlanders lost their two previous matches, they are appearing for the first time in the FCT league. (NAN) [eap_ad_3]
