Abuja – Rev.Fr Dominic Adeiza, the Director, Training, Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, has urged women to take advantage of any opportunity that would enable them to acquire entrepreneurial skills.
Adeiza said this at a two-day workshop for empowering women through education and mentorship in Abuja.
“Women should take every opportunity seriously to leverage on their hidden potentials.
“Our women should not be discouraged with the present challenges in the country as challenges are meant to bring out the best in us.
“There is no better place to realise one’s dream than our country; so the womenfolk must rise to up to contribute their quota to the growth of our nation,’’ he said.
Adeiza said the programme was organised to teach participants some entrepreneurial skills that would make them self-reliant.
“Women should not think less of themselves. Instead, they should be determined to achieve their lofty dreams,’’ Adeiza said.
Mrs Aishat John, an entrepreneur, said women should see themselves as agents of change.
She urged them to work hard to improve their value for the benefit of their families.
“You are advised to explore the social media to learn new skills and not wait until programmes are organised for you,’’ she said.
Mrs Yetunde Enedu, another entrepreneur, said in seeking new skills, women must deliberately identify their areas of strength and interest.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that more than 200 women acquired various skills from the training.
