Ilorin – Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara has promised to find lasting solution to the incessant clashes between Share and Tsaragi communities of the State.
Ahmed made the promise on Monday while receiving report of Judicial Commission of Inquiry which looked into communal clash between the two communities in Dec. 2015.
He also assured members of the commission that that government would thoroughly examine the report and implement the recommendations fully as a way of finding lasting solutions to the communal clash.
“I have no doubt that the recommendations in the report will provide lasting solutions to communal clash between Share and Tsaragi.
“Let me at this juncture assure you that the commission’s report will be thoroughly examined and the recommendations implemented to the fullest”, the governor added.
The governor appealed to the people of Share and Tsaragi to embrace peace, and draw strength and inspiration from their diversity for development.
He added that the people of both communities should learn from the Dec. 2015 episode and use it to build a more united, peaceful and cohesive society.
Ahmed also urged the people of the state to continue to exhibit good human relations and forge ahead to achieve prosperity together.

The Chairman of the Commission, Justice Suleiman Akanbi, said 23 memoranda were received from both communities while witnesses were also summoned.
Akanbi said members of the commission also visited the scene of the clash as well as the traditional rulers of the two neighbouring communities.
The chairman said he was confident that there would be lasting solution to the perennial clash if the recommendations of the commission were fully implemented. (NAN)
