“What happened here last Sunday was heinous and barbaric. Up to 15 people lost their lives and over 50 were injured.
“It is sad and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of victims and pray for the injured.
“While we cannot control when or where a terror attack might happen, we can go a long way to prevent and even stop these barbaric acts by being extra vigilant.
“We must keenly observe what is happening around our environment.
“We should be careful and try to note anyone that comes in and goes out and report immediately to the security agents whenever we see anything suspicious or potentially harmful’’, the governor said.
The governor also visited the State Specialist Hospital, Damaturu, where some of the injured were receiving treatment.
Dr Bello Kawuwa, Commissioner for Health, said all victims of the bomb attack were being treated free of charge.
“Those in very critical condition were referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Nguru.’’ (NAN)
