Gov. Lalong appoints NAN correspondent as Senior Special Assistant, Media

Abuja – Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau has appointed Mr Mark Longyen of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as his Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), a statement said.

The statement was issued by Mr Emmanuel Nanle, Director of Press and Public Affairs, Governor’s Office, and made available to NAN in Abuja on Saturday.

It said the governor also appointed Mr Jeptha Jackden as the General Manager of Plateau Radio and Television Corporation, Jos.

The statement said the two appointments would take effect immediately.

“The governor is optimistic that with the injection of this crop of media practitioners, the best of the interest of Plateau will be served through their professionalism and valid contribution to information management in the state,’’ it said.

Longyen holds a B.Sc in International Relations from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.

Before joining NAN in 2012, Longyen worked with some private media organisations after his National Youth Service Corps in Calabar, where he served as Press Officer, Government House, from 1992 to 1993.
