Less than 24 hours following the passing of acclaimed Nollywood actor John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, his adopted daughter Jasmine has rebranded his personal TikTok account, previously boasting over a million followers.
It was uncovered on Sunday that the late actor’s TikTok page underwent a name change, now identified as @LadyJasminec_live. Notably, Jasmine appears to have selectively retained footage featuring only herself alongside the deceased actor.
This move has sparked indignation among social media users, who accuse Jasmine of “tampering” with the late actor’s legacy.
It is important to recall that the actor passed away on Saturday night, mere weeks after being discharged from the hospital following successful surgeries resulting in the amputation of one leg. His demise, confirmed by Dr. Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, was attributed to cardiac arrest.
