How Governor Ugwuanyi rescued accident victims

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi at the weekend led a rescue operation at an accident scene at Ekulu Bridge, Abakpa Nike, East Council and rescuing victims from the incident.

The incident saw a petroleum products truck lose control and fall into a ditch.


It was learnt that prior to the Governor’s arrival, the State Agency (SEMA), the Federal Safety Commission (FRSC), the State Fire and the chairman of East Council, Alex Ugwu, promptly reported to the accident.

The officials were said to have stabilised the victims and transferred them to the hospital with an ambulance.

SEMA and the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure also provided a crane and manpower for removal of the vehicle, evacuation of the products and reopening of the for vehicular and other users

The Secretary of SEMA, Nkechi Eneh, who confirmed one casualty, residents to be calm and -abiding as well as cooperate with efforts of the government and response stakeholders to arrest the situation.
