Enugu – The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) senatorial candidate for Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh, has said that Monday’s appeal tribunal judgement in Enugu had vindicated him.
Reacting to the judgement in Enugu on Tuesday, Umeh said he was distressed with the outcome of the election which prompted him to challenge it in the tribunal.
“I cried out earlier that the election was marred with electoral impunity by the PDP and pointed out that the environment under which it was conducted was strictly against other candidates,” he said.
He alleged that the PDP candidate, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, submitted the names of ad hoc staff to the INEC during the election, adding that the military was used against other political parties.
Umeh noted that the PDP candidate was not validly nominated by the party as the party was factionalised.
He described the judiciary as the `only hope for the common man’.
“I have used the machinery of the judiciary to ensure justice and show the world that truth must prevail at last,” he said.
