International Athletics Federations (IAAF) Monaco said it has recently ratified three world records set .S. and Jamaica earlier this year.

a statement by IAAF Communications Department, world athletics ruling body said Jamaican team’s record 1:18.63 the 4 x 200 metres was ratified.

“The team Nickel Ashmeade, Warren Weir, Jermaine Brown and Yohan Blake set the record May 24 at Nassau in Bahamas.

“It erased the previous record of 1:18.68 set by Michael Marsh, Leroy Burrell, Floyd Heard and Carl Lewis at Walnut in the .S. Apr. 17, 1994,’’ the statement said.

It also said the IAAF ratified the 7:13.11 world indoor record set by the .S. All Star 4 x 800 m team of the .S., set at Boston in the .S. on Feb. 8, 2014.

“The team comprised Richard Jones, David Torrence, Duane Solomon and Erik Sowinski.[eap_ad_2]

“The team erased the previous record of 7:13.94 set by the U.S. team of Joey Woody, Karl Paranya, Rich Kenah and David Krummenacker in Boston on Feb. 6, 2000,’’ the statement said.

The IAAF further said it has ratified the world junior indoor record of 2:35.80 in the 1,000 m set by Mary Cain of the U.S. at Boston on Feb. 8, 2014.

“The record thus erases the 2:40.1 set by Diana Richburg of the U.S. at New in the U.S. on Dec. 7, 1982,’’ it said.

The world athletics body however said an earlier performance by Cain set at another meet in Boston remains, pending ratification.

She had set a time of 2:39.25 on Jan. 16, 2014.(NAN)[eap_ad_3]
