Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has as announced the dissolution of his cabinet.
The Permanent Secretary, Government House, Mr. Onyii Wamah made the announcement on Friday night on the website of Abia State government.
Making the statement ob behalf of Governor Okezie Ikeazu, Mr Onyii gave no reason for sacking almost all the cabinet members.
According to the permanent secretary, only the trio of Chief of Staff, Mr. Sunny Nwakodo, Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Obinna Oriaku and Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state, Chief Umeh Kalu (SAN) were not affected in the sack.
The governor also announced the appointment of three special advisers. They are former commissioner for Works, Mr Eziuche Ubani who is now Special Adviser on Works and Project Monitoring; Mr. Solomon Ogunji as Special Adviser on Urban Renewal and Mr Emma Nwabuko as Special Advicer/Personal Secretary to the governor.
Sundiata Post recalls that between May 28 and 29, the commissioners took turns to present their scorecards at a forum attended by the governor.
The governor, after worshipping at the Government House Chapel Umuahia to thank God for his victory at Supreme court called on all to Abi come out and join hands with us to build a better Abia, the victory is not for anybody; it is for all of us. We are in a hurry to develop Abia, we don’t have the luxury of time.
