ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Chief Don Etiebet, CON, has mourned the sudden death of Access Holdings’ Chief Executive Officer, Mr Herbert Wigwe in a chopper crash in California, United States.

Etiebet, in a statement to THE CONCLAVE, accompanied by a photo of him and Herbert in his Abuja residence, toasting to a deal they struck togerher, lamented the loss of a friend, a brother and a business partner.

According to the elder statesman and Atuekong Anang, “The news of his (Herbert Wigwe) passing in a helicopter crash alongside his wife, son and a friend, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, is not only shocking, devastating and unbelievable but untalkable and unbearable as I have lost words to describe my feeling.

“Dr Herbert Wigwe, an epitome of youth entrepreneurship was a beacon for all Nigerians in financial business engineering successes.

“He put the Nigerian nation on the international financial map within a short time of becoming the GMD of Access Bank, transforming it into a Holding conglomerate which he headed as the President of Access Corporation.

“He was a star, affable, always smiling and friendly. He was a firm and decisive person
which made him to be very successful in the banking industry.

“We shall all miss him. May his soul and those of his wife, son and friend Abimbola rest in peace.

“May the Almighty God grant his family, the Access Corporation and friends, the grace to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.”
