New Delhi – Indian Defence Ministry said its Air Force combat aircraft crashed in the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday while the pilot ejected safely.

It said in a statement in New Delhi that the MiG-21 Bison fighter jet, had taken off from the air force base in Srinagar on a routine training sortie.
The ministry said the pilot was safe and there were no reports of casualties or damage on the ground.
It said an inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the accident. (dpa/NAN)
