INEC confident of credible elections in Nasarawa State

OBI (NASARAWA STATE) – Alhaji Abdullahi Danyahaya, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Nasarawa State, expressed confidence of delivering credible governorship and house of assembly elections in the state.

Danyahaya gave the assurance in Obi, headquarters of the local government, while addressing newsmen on the conduct of the exercise across the state.

He expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly manner in which the elections were held in all parts of the state.

The commissioner also observed that there were few challenges, but not like that of March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

During the visit, the commissioner was briefed by the Electoral Officers of the local government areas on steps taken to address lapses in polling units during the elections.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]

Danyahaya disclosed that eight political parties in the state fielded candidates for governorship position, while 122 from 10 political parties contested the 24 seats in the state’s House of Assembly. (NAN)
