Tehran – Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Zarif, on Friday called for an international probe into the Israeli violence in the Gaza Strip, local media reported.
Zarif urged “transparent and independent” international probe into the “crimes” in the occupied Palestinian territories by Israel.
He made the remarks in an address to a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s foreign ministers on Palestine in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
“In the light of the massacre in Gaza, the international community is entitled to demand an end to the impunity of this brutal and rogue apartheid regime of Israel.
“We need to take concrete action in the United Nations system and the OIC should reinforce the call for bringing the perpetrators to justice,’’ the minister said.
The foreign ministers of the OIC member states met on Friday in Istanbul over a roadmap that seeks to end Israel’s violence policy.
The U.S. relocation of its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Monday sparked protests and clashes with Israeli forces at the Gaza border in which over 60 Palestinians were killed.
