Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The suspended former chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Abdulmumuni Jibrin, on Wednesday heaved a sigh of relief as he reunited with his colleagues after serving 180 days suspension slammed on him that spanned over a year.
Hon. Jibrin was ushered in by the Chief Whip, Mr. Alhassan Ado Doguwa of the All Progressives Congress from Kano State.
His resumption followed the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara’s announced at plenary yesterday that Jibrin had written a letter of apology demanded of him by the House before he could be readmitted even after serving out the 180 days suspension.
Sundiata Post recall that Hon. Jibrin was suspended in September 2016 for 180 legislative days and one of the conditions given him before acceptance back into the House, was to apologise at the end of his suspension. He was also banned from holding any post throughout the life of the 8th Assembly.
Recall also that his salaries and allowances were halted and he was banned from the premises of National Assembly.
