Threatens to Invoke Relevant Sections of the Constitution if it’s Resolutions Are Not Strictly Complied With

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – National Assembly on Tuesday passed vote of no confidence on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris for allegedly presiding over the killings of Nigerians.
The federal lawmakers also reaffirmed their earlier declaration that the police boss is “an enemy of democracy and unfit to hold public office within and outside Nigeria”.
Recall that the Senate last month declared the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris as the “enemy of democracy and unfit to hold public office both in Nigeria and outside of the country ” over his failure to honour their invitation over the security situation in the country for three consecutive times,
The joint session of the National Assembly also passed vote of confidence on the leadership of the National Assembly represented by Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives. Hon Yakubu Dogara.
The federal lawmakers also mandated the executive to ensure that the fight against corruption is not selective, adding that those presently in government should also be investigated.
The federal lawmakers also urged the executive to put in place all necessary requirements to ensure that it’s resolutions are strictly complied with failing which it will not hesitate to invoke relevant sections of the constitution.
