Kaduna – The new Kaduna State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Umar Ibrahim, has assumed duty.
Ibrahim took over from Mr Francis Udoma, who was transferred to FRSC National Headquarters Abuja, as the new Head of Transport Section.
At a send forth ceremony organised for the outgoing sector commander, on Monday, in Kaduna, Ibrahim promised improved service delivery to meet the mandate of the corps in the state.
He appealed for the cooperation of officers and marshal of the command to raise the performance bar in reducing road accidents in the state.
“There would be nothing new. All I want is your support and cooperation so that together we would return sanity on our roads and save lives.
“I will not have problem with anybody if we all do our job,but I will certainly have an issue with anyone who fails to do his job, ” he said.
Ibrahim was the Sector Commander in Osun before his transfer to Kaduna command in the same capacity.
On his part, Udoma thanked all the officers for the confidence reposed in him throughout the two years and eight months he served as sector commander in the state.
He appealed to the officers and marshals to extend same support to the new sector commander for the success of FRSC in Kaduna state.
“I had a good working relationship with all of you, but I still indulge you to take your profession seriously and you will continue to excel,” he added.
Also speaking, the Head of Operations in the command, Salisu Galadunci, said that the command has witnessed tremendous changes under Udoma.
He particularly applauded Udoma’s landmark achievement in ensuring good working relationship among officers and marshals, as well as improved efficiency and performance which resulted in accident-free roads.
