Katsina – The Katsina State House of Assembly has expressed concern over the high level of insecurity in the state.
Alhaji Saidu Daura, the Chairman House Committee on Information and Culture, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Katsina.
“The attention of the House of Assembly has been drawn to the level of insecurity in the state by several members that their people at various constituents were not safe.
“The people of Zango, Mai’adua and Daura Local Governments are not safe as local armed bandits have been attacking and robbing them.
“Armed bandits have invaded the areas, snatching motorcycles and other valuable from their owners.
“The Trunk ‘A’ road leading from Katsina to Daura is no longer safe. Anybody travelling on that road from 8.00 pm to 6.00 am is in danger.
“The people of the southern part are also not secured as thieves, armed robbers and bandits have been disturbing them.
“Some disgruntled elements had formed the habit of robbing and attacking innocent citizens in most of the local governments in the state,” Daura said.
He called on security agencies to intensify patrol with the aim of controlling the situation.
Daura also appealed to the state government to support the security agencies with logistics to carry out their constitutional responsibilities.
