IJEBU-ODE (Sundiata Post) – Alhaji Suraj OmoLogere, the Ijebu-Ode LGA Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the APC and indeed Ijebu Ode have a lot to gain if Keshiro Onilogbo emerges as the party’s candidate in the race for the chairmanship of Ijebu-Ode Local Government in Ogun State.
At a meeting of party executives and stakeholders held in Ijebu-Ode on Tuesday, OmoLogere described Onilogbo as “a core party man, grassroots politician and a strong believer in our leader and boss Governor Dapo Abiodun and the leadership of the party.
He said Ijebu-Ode LGA would witness more development if Keshiro emerges APC candidate and goes ahead to win the election, stressing that this could only be made possible by their massive support and mobilisation.
OmoLogere, who described the council chairmanship aspirant as a resourceful person and strategist, said he possesses the experience, exposure, and capacity to lead the LGA successfully if supported.
He also thanked Ward 9 people and the Ward chairman for choosing and supporting Onilogbo as their candidate, adding that the people have started seeing the benefits of supporting someone with competence and character vying for public office.
In his response, Onilogbo thanked Alhaji OmoLogere and other executives for their steadfastness in their support for him.
He assured the LGA party executives and stakeholderof more dividends of democracy and the continuation of landmark achievements of the past administration ably led by Alhaji Babatunde Emiola Gazal.
The chairmanship aspirant said: “We are prepared as a party and we have the best aspirations, both for chairmanship and councillorship, and we are just waiting for the coronation come on the due date. We are optimistic that the Ijebu Ode citizenry will vote for us massively if we emerge as candidate as Ogidi Omoluwabi Ijebu-Ode that cut across the three major zones of Ijebu-Ode LGA and we shall also mobilise massively for our councillorship candidates”.
The representative of the 11 ward chairmen, Hon Oduwole from Ward 3 and the LGA party public relations officer, Dr Dapo Osokoya, thanked Keshiro Onilogbo for sustaining the progressive ideology of APC and wished him success in endeavours.
