Kano – The Kano State Primary Healthcare Management Board has restructured its Social Mobilisation and Community Engagement working groups to boost primary healthcare services and routine immunisation.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr Muhammad Nasir, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Kano.
He said that the group would embark on sensitisation of the public on routine immunisation and healthcare delivery in the state.
Nasir added that the group would also develop community engagement monitoring tools, communication strategies plan for health and build capacity of relevant stakeholders.
According to him, the working groups included the Shari’a Commission, Kano State Hisbah Board, Council of Ulama and the State Ministries of Information, Women Affairs and Local Government.
He added that the representatives of development partners in the state would also be on the working group.
Nasir said the social mobilisation officer of the board, Alhaji Auwalu Adamu would serve as co-chairman and secretary of the group.
He urged them to organise regular orientations, training for various community leaders and healthcare providers on community engagement.
