Abuja – Mr Noh Kyu-Duck, the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Nigeria, has praised winners of the 2015 Korean POP (K-POP) and dance competition held recently in Abuja.
Kyu-Duck showered the praises in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.
“I want to commend T-SOD, a Kaduna-based dance group, and K-Popians (Boys) of Gwagwalada, FCT, who emerged winners of the 2015 K-POP Dance Competition organised by the Korean Cultural Centre.
“The competition was in two categories, for students and adult categories, and this attracted dance troupes from Delta, Edo, Enugu and Rivers states.
“The dance troupes put up highly scintillating performances, especially the winners who were exceptional.
“The first positions went to T-SOD in the adult category, while K-Popians (Boys) clinched the first position in the student category.
“The second positions were won by Legend Ido Sarki for the student category, while Pacific Stars placed second in the adult category,” he said.
Kyu-Duck said that the 3rd position was won by K-Popians (Girls) for student category while Supreme Task clinched the adult category.
“The 4th positions were won by Amty Kids for student category and Furious F for the adult category.”
He said that the winners in the two categories were given one Samsung phone each and various cash prizes to the different winning groups.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
He explained that T-SOD, winner of the adult category would participate in the ‘K-POP World Festival 2015’ to be organised by Korean Broadcasting System in October at Changwon, Republic of Korea.
The ambassador said that participants from the students’ category included: K-Popians (Girls) Gwagwalada, School of the gifted, Legend Ido Saki and Complex 6 Maitama, Abuja.
“Others were, Divine Explorer, Amty Kids and K-Popians (Boys), Gwagwalada, all from Abuja.
“From the adult professional category, the participants were, ‘T-SOD’ and Dance Alliance from Kaduna, ‘Elite Stars’ from Edo and ‘Furious F’ from Delta.
“Other participants in the adult category included: ‘Thrillaz Dance Crew’ from Nsukka, Enugu State, Pacific Stars from Abuja, Made Mehn from Lagos and Supreme Task from Port Harcourt.
“I am very happy and excited that Nigerian youths are in love with Korean POP music and dance,” Kyu-Duck said. (NAN)
