ILORIN – The Kwara State Government on Monday expressed its determination to further improve on its internally-generated revenue (IGR) and quality management skills, to sustain its developmental programmes.
The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr Tunji Moronfoye, gave the assurance in llorin, while speaking with newsmen.
Moronfoye, who expressed concern over the decline in the state’s allocation from the Federation Account, however, said it would not deter the government from delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
The commissioner charged those representing the state at the Federal level to use their positions to fight the cause of the state.
He said they should also use their positions to bring developmental programmes to the state, to complement the state government’s efforts.
On political matters, he described the number of aspirants contesting for various positions under the All Progressives Congress as an evidence of true democratic process.
He said that the party’s track record, manifesto and wealth of experience would eventually influence the people’s choice.
On environmental issues in the state, Moronfoye restated the resolve of government to prosecute anyone who flouts its environmental laws. (NAN)
