Lagos – The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, on Wednesday paraded 22 suspects arrested over armed robbery, cultism, defilement, murder and other crimes.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the suspects were arrested barely two weeks after more
than 25 suspects were paraded by the commissioner for similar offences.
He said two robbery suspects were killed during exchange of gunfire with the police, while arms, ammunition and seven vehicles were also recovered.
The commissioner, who expressed worry over the activities of land grabbers in Lekki and Ikorodu areas of the state, said that four suspects had been arrested in connection with such crime.
Owoseni also said there was an increase in cases of suspected criminals trailing bank customers to their transaction points, with a view to dispose them of their money.
“The growing rate of minors’ involvement in cultism is also worrisome. We arrested some minors of ages 13 and 15 involved in a clash with a rival group.
“We call on parents to check who moves with their wards.
The minors arrested have been undergoing counseling, so that they would not turn into bigger criminals,’’ Owoseni said. (NAN)
