Yola – Adamawa House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Information Malam Hassan Barguma says the N1 billion approved by the state government for constituency projects will not be handle by lawmakers.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Yola, he said the clarification became necessary to curtail rumours making round that the money had been shared to the lawmakers.
“This money is meant for constituency project and not for House of Assembly account or sharing to individual lawmakers as being insinuated.
“Where we came in as lawmakers is just to identify the sites and projects to be executed in our respective constituencies.
“If one identified water as the need of his constituency, he will identify the communities and communicate to ministry of water resources who will handle the project’’, Barguma said.
Barguma said, so far, most lawmakers had identified the project needs of their respective communities and had communicated same to relevant ministries for action.
He lauded the approval of the fund by the state government which he said would ensure the execution of people oriented programmes at the grassroots.
