The state Chairman of the legion, Alhaji Usman Gwandu, made the appeal at the launch of Nigerian[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Armed Forces/ Remembrance Day 2015 in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
He also said the legion needed vehicles and subsidised medical services for its members.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“We appeal to the State Government to cushion of our health challenges.’’
He assured that proceeds from the appeal fund would be used to take care of the welfare of members of the association and their dependents.
Gwandu said the legion had remitted the annual levy but incurred some debt to organise the 2015 event and appealed to members of the public to assist the legion to offset the debt.
He commended the Federal Government for integrating members of the legion into the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Gov Sa’idu Dakingari of Kebbi said on the occasion that the state government would look into the demands of the ex-servicemen.
He commended the members of the association for their sacrifice for the unity and growth of the country and urged the public to always support the legion. (NAN)
