Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Presidency on Tuesday distanced itself from the report of Governor Rochas Okorocha-led team that visited President Muhammadu Buhari in Lodon.
Sundiata Post recalls that Governor Okorocha who led a team of the All Progressives Congress governors that visited President Mohammadu Buhari on Sunday, reported that President Buhari will return from London in two weeks.
However, the Presidency on Tuesday said there is no fixed date for President Buhari’s return to Nigeria, adding that only his doctors can give a date for his eventual return.
Daily Post has quoted Femi Adesina, Buhari’s spokesperson, as confirming that the president will not be back so soon.
“I am not a doctor and even if I am, it is clear that I am not part of the team that is attending to the President.
According to a report, “The president made it clear in his letter to the National Assembly that the duration of his stay in London would be determined by his doctor.
“That has not changed. He must get a clean bill of health before he returns,” the source said.
“His date of return will be decided by that medical team.
“More meetings are coming; there will be broader ones. That Sunday meeting was just the beginning,” he said.
He also said the presidency is not worried about the legal actions seeking to compel the Federal Executive Council to declare Buhari incapacitated.
“We are in a democracy; it is their (plaintiffs’) right. The court will determine the case on its merit,” Adesina said.
Sundiata Post further recalls that former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode had earlier faulted the alleged visit of Governor Rochas Okorocha-led APC governors team to London, describing the picture making rounds in that regards as fake and old.
