Osogbo – A 29-year-old Adewale Lukman was on Friday arraigned on a three-count-charge of alleged burglary and theft of home appliances worth N792,000 belonging to one Oduoye Wasiu.
The accused is standing trial before Magistrate Halimatu Bashir at an Osogbo Magistrates Court, Osun.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Duro Adekole, told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 7 at about 11.00 p.m. at NUT Quarters, Mallam Tope’s area, Osogbo.
Adekole said the accused forcefully entered the complainant’s apartment and carted away items worth N792, 000.
He said the items stolen include: a Samsung television set, an LG television set , a PS3 game, a set of home theatre.
Others are: an adaptor, two laptop computers, one gold ring, a big box containing cloths, a Bold 5 blackberry and five watches.
Adekole said the offence contravened Sections 383(1), 411 (1)(2) and 412 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34 Vol. 11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Counsel to the accused, Mr Okobie Najite, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Halimatu Bashir, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Bashir said the sureties must be residing within the court’s jurisdiction and showed evidence of tax payment to the Osun State Government.
The magistrate also ordered that the sureties must provide two passport-size-photographs attached to their affidavits indicating that they had genuine means of livelihood.
The court adjourned the case to Sept. 16 for hearing. (NAN)
