Kano – Max Air says it has so far transported 21,000 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for 2016 Hajj since the commencement of the airlift on Aug. 8.
Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru, who is the Public Relations Manager of the airline, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Wednesday.
He said the pilgrims were transported to the Holy land from different parts of the country in 40 flights.
“We have so far transported over 20, 000 out of the 30, 112 intending pilgrims allocated to us by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria,’’ Dahiru said.
He said the airline had commenced the transportation of intending pilgrims from Nasarawa State, while that of Plateau would start on Friday, Aug. 26.
He expressed optimism that the airline would complete the the transportation of the remaining 9, 500 intending pilgrims before the closure of King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah on Sept.4.
He commended the state Pilgrim Welfare Boards for their cooperation. (NAN)
