Berlin – German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, said on Tuesday that South Africa was one of the most important partners on the African continent.
Germany is South Africa’s second most important trading partner, with more than 600 German firms active in the country.
“Bilateral relations were very good,’’ Merkel said.

As areas in which even more cooperation were possible Merkel named the fight against Islamist terrorism, their current energy partnership, science as well as climate policies. (dpa/NAN)
