Lagos – Basking from the euphoria of good run of matches in the Nigerian Premier Football League, Fidelis Ilechukwu, Coach of MFM FC of Lagos, says the club targets the top four finish.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that MFM, debutants in the competition, are now at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after it defeated El-Kanemi of Maiduguri 3-1.
The Match Day 6 game between the two clubs was played on Sunday at the Agege Township Stadium.

The home win has placed MFM at the top of the NPFL log with 13 points, while Rangers of Enugu occupy the second place.
MFM in the trilling encounter saw goals from Emiloju who opened scoring in the 22nd minute, while Stephen Odey made two in the 47th and Emmanuel Onuwa in the 85th.
Japheth Daniel scored El-Kanemi’s consolatory goal against their hosts in the 66th minute.
At the post-match interview, an elated Ilechukwu said that his least target was to have MFM in the top four of the NPFL at the end of
the season.
“It is too early to say that we can win the league because we have not met with some other big clubs such as Enyimba, Kano Pillars
Heartland and the rest.
“After playing these big clubs, we can then say what our position will be in realistic terms but that is not to say that we are afraid of those clubs.
“We are hoping to have the favour of God in our matches and I believe God will see us through. League matches are sometimes difficult to prosecute, but we will do our best.
“Our boys know what to do and take each match as their last game for the season and that is the spirit in our camp,’’ he said.
NAN reports that the match was also used for evangelism as MFM outreach group distributed tracts and gospel leaflets to fans in the stadium. (NAN)
